The WWE-owned Mexican promotion hosted AAA Noche de los Grandes tonight, and it was a resounding success.
The show ended with a five-star classic Mask vs. Mask match between El Grande Americano vs. the “Original” El Grande Americano in a culmination of a months-long feud.
Thanks for the submission!
WWE RAW star Chad Gable was the man behind the Original El Grande Americano gimmick.
However, things took an unexpected turn as Gable injured himself and had to take time off.
In his absence, Ludwig Kaiser disguised himself as the new El Grande Americano and became insanely popular among Mexican fans.
The real issue began when Chad Gable returned, igniting a buzzworthy feud over who is the real El Grande Americano.
The war officially ended tonight as El Grande Americano (aka Ludwig Kaiser) defeated Chad Gable. After the match, he passed the torch to Ludwig Kaiser and revealed his identity in a rather emotional moment in front of fans and his family inside the ring.
He handed his mask to Ludwig, letting him know that though he will always be the Original El Grande, now Kaiser is the only Americano.
Then, before leaving the ring, the WWE RAW star promised AAA fans that he would return to the promotion in the future.
El Grande Americano may go after WWE star next
The “Original” El Grande Americano appears to be done with AAA, at least for the time being. There’s no word yet on whether Triple H will bring him back as Chad Gable on RAW.
In the coming weeks, he could go after Dominik Mysterio for the AAA Mega Championship. The two men are no strangers to each other.
With Rey Mysterio acting as the AAA General Manager, a feud between his son, Dominik Mysterio, and Chad Gable could do wonders in Mexico.
This is just a speculation, as nothing has been confirmed at the time of writing.
