GM is integrating multiple EV charging networks into the smartphone apps deployed by its automotive brands. With a single account, Energy Pass enables access to Tesla Supercharger, Ionna, and Electrify America stations; EVgo and ChargePoint will be added soon. GM is also installing native NACS ports on all its 2027 EVs, with Plug & Charge at Tesla Superchargers coming soon. General Motors wants to make life on the road easier for owners of its electric cars with a new feature called Energy Pass. Integrated into the MyChevrolet, My Cadillac, and MyGMC smartphone apps, Energy Pass enables seamless access to the…
General Motors has expanded its partnership with Redwood Materials to cover every stage of the battery lifecycle — manufacturing scrap recovery, end-of-life recycling, and now second-life energy storage deployed at a GM factory. It’s the first automaker to hit all three with JB Straubel’s company. The latest piece is a 1.5 MW / 7.2 MWh energy storage system built from roughly 100 repurposed GM battery packs, set to be installed at a GM manufacturing plant in Michigan. Redwood says the system will save the plant more than $3 million in electricity costs over its lifetime. From scrap to storage: the…
My Favorite Airbnb: A Spacious, Light-Filled Sanctuary in Mexico City Where Condesa and Roma Meet
At this point, nearly every New York creative has considered a move to Mexico City, with its verdant parks, walkable neighborhoods, ever-evolving food scene, and artistic treasure trove of galleries and museums. The discourse around the mass American migration to CDMX is one of both gentrification and opportunity, and short-term rental platforms play a not-insignificant role. So, when I too felt the overwhelming urge to join the flock and fly south to the Mexican capital this winter, I knew I wanted an Airbnb that fulfilled my logistical needs (affordable price point and central location) and moral obligations (a listing owned and…

Congress just gave Trump another $70 billion for mass deportations
Congress narrowly voted to fund President Donald Trump’s mass deportation agenda, giving the Department of Homeland Security $70 billion over the next three years. The house voted 214 to 212 in favor of the reconciliation bill Tuesday, following the Senate’s 52-47 vote last Friday morning. The vote fell largely along party lines. Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) was the only Senate Republican to vote against it. Rep. Tim Walberg (R-MI), initially voted against the bill — meaning it would have failed — but changed his vote after huddling with House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) and and Appropriations Chair Tom Cole, according…
Hey Siri, here’s what I actually want from AI
Two years and a $250 million lawsuit later, Apple’s AI Siri revamp is on its way to your phones and laptops and even your mixed reality headset, if you happen to be one of like three people who actually uses the Apple Vision Pro. Apple revealed a slew of new information at Monday’s WWDC keynote about these long-awaited, AI-powered updates that can take advantage of the fact that our hardware is supposedly “built for Apple Intelligence.” To be honest, it’s hard for AI to impress me enough that I’ll use it in my day-to-day life. I still don’t trust LLMs…
Companies seek lifting of curbs on gas pipeline integration
New Delhi: Domestic energy companies, including Oil India, ONGC, Hindustan Oil Exploration Company, OilMax Energy and Vedanta, are demanding that the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) lift restrictions on connecting common carrier pipelines with regional pipelines, a move that could immediately free up nearly 10% of India’s gas output and ease pressure on national supplies.Around 14 million metric standard cubic metres per day (MMSCMD), nearly 15% of country’s domestic gas output from the Northeast, is lying idle and not utilised, even as India imports 95 MMSCMD of LNG at $19-20 per mmbtu. The foreign exchange drain amounts to…

US launches new strikes on Iran after helicopter downed
The United States on Tuesday launched strikes against Iran after President Donald Trump said Tehran had shot down a U.S. Apache helicopter in the Strait of Hormuz, deepening doubts about prospects for peace between the two countries. “The mission is a proportional response to unjustified Iranian aggression,” U.S. Central Command said on X. Trump earlier said the two U.S. pilots involved in the incident were uninjured but that the United States would respond to the attack. The Apache was brought down by a one-way Iranian attack drone, according to a U.S. official who spoke on condition of anonymity. Iran’s Foreign…
