AEW icon Brodie Lee tragically died in December 2020. Although his run in the Tony Khan-led promotion was short, he delivered several memorable moments. He held the TNT Championship once and was destined to become the AEW World Champion. Furthermore, he was the leader of the Dark Order.
Brodie Lee’s widow is Amanda Huber. They got married in 2011 and have two sons together. The elder, Brodie Lee Jr., is currently fourteen and has already made his wrestling debut. He locked horns with Joey Janela at GCW Joey Janela’s Spring Break X and convincingly defeated him in a match that was almost half an hour long. Amanda recently paid tribute to the New Day on X.
Xavier Woods recently shared a touching animated video in which he, Kofi Kingston, and Big E were depicted as three unicorns in a circus. This made fans worldwide emotional. Amanda Huber reacted to this clip by wishing the trio the best for their future. She even shared a few pictures of young Brodie Lee Jr. with the New Day posters. She even called her elder son the unofficial fourth member of the legendary faction.
“Speaking for myself and the unofficial 4th unicorn, I hope these guys have so much fun and success in whatever comes next. We love you forever 🦄 Team New Day Kids for life,” she wrote.
AEW Women’s World Champion Willow Nightingale recently gave the New Day a shoutout
In a recent appearance on Marking Out, Willow Nightingale praised the New Day. She said that the trio broke stereotypes and popularised black joy in professional wrestling.
“I also personally would like to do a shoutout to New Day because when we talk about a Willow Nightingale kind of character of like… breaking down a stereotype, and embracing the positive and joy. Black joy and being carefree and whimsical. I think they helped people accept that and be like, ‘Yeah! That is cool. Right on’ and can kind of make way for me to also be like, that is what I have been dishing out,” she said. [H/T – Fightful]
