On August 1 and 2, 2026, The Husband episodes 9 and 10 aired on KBS2 at 9:20 pm KST and Disney+. The show is led by Namkoong Min as Kang Tae-ju, Lee Seol as Ko Se-yun, Kim Dae-myung as Noh Man-hee, and Lee Sang-hee as Kim Kyung-ae.

In The Husband episode 9, Kyung-ae is shown to have been rejected for the fetal stem-cell surgery clinical trial not because of a criminal record, as she had been told. She was rejected because the trial accepted patients who matched the hospital’s major donors. Money determined selection, and there was never a place for her.

In The Husband episode 10, Tae-ju tells Se-yun that he did not miss their daughter Ha-yun’s surgery by choice. He was ordered by her father, hospital founder Ko Dong-chan, to prioritize an important VIP patient instead while Ha-yun was dying. Tae-ju had kept the truth from Se-yun so she would not hate her father after already losing their child.

By the end of episode 10, Noh Man-hee confronts Dr. Choi Chi-ung as the person who manipulated him and Kyung-ae.

What happened in The Husband episodes 9 and 10?

The target turns out to be Kang Tae-ju instead of Ko Se-yun. Meanwhile, Tae-ju’s colleague Dr. Choi is not what he seems.

    The Husband episode 9 recap

The Husband episode 9 opens with Noh Man-hee receiving a message instructing him to proceed with the original plan, accompanied by a photo of the missing bags of ransom money. Tae-ju is questioned by police about the death of Ha Jung-soo, who died from a potassium chloride injection. Tae-ju explains he approached Ha to ask why he tried to kill Kim Kyung-ae.

Detective Jang Do-sik explains that the phone number used to track Tae-ju on the day of Se-yun’s kidnapping belonged to Ha. Tae-ju recalls Ha saying he only did what he was told.

The next day in The Husband episode 9, Do-sik visits the hospital after learning Kyung-ae gained consciousness. She says that her husband and she were used by Ha, identifying him as the one who ordered the kidnapping. Do-sik finds the evidence against Ha too neat and remains unconvinced.

Tae-ju volunteers to become Kyung-ae’s attending physician despite opposition from Dr. Ko Dong-chan. Tae-ju later visits Kyung-ae and questions her claim that Ha acted alone. Kyung-ae grows emotional and reveals she applied for a clinical trial involving fetal stem-cell surgery. She states the hospital rejected her because of her criminal record.

Tae-ju goes to locate the trial applications or patient lists in the hospital laboratory using Se-yun’s ID card, but he doesn’t find them. He asks Se-yun about it and informs her that Kyung-ae applied for the research program, and asks her to search her father’s study, though he does not fully explain the situation. At her parents’ home, Se-yun enters the study, finds the hidden documents, and clicks images.

Meanwhile, in The Husband episode 9, Man-hee buys a hammer and other supplies at a hardware store. Before he made the payment, the owner was watching the news on TV about Se-yun’s case; he passes a negative comment on Kyung-ae, making Man-hee angry. Man-hee‘s wanted image shows up on the news; the owner recognizes him, and Man-hee kills him.

At the hospital, Se-yun gives a pen drive to Tae-ju that contains those images. The documents show that every accepted patient on the clinical trial list matches the major donors displayed in the hospital lobby. Tae-ju returns to Kyung-ae and tells her the selection was based on money, not hope or medical need. Her application contained no reference to a criminal record, meaning someone lied to her about the reason for exclusion. He warns her that if someone used Ha to try to kill her, that person may still pose a threat.

Cha Myeong-hui comes under suspicion when Do-sik reviews elevator CCTV showing her interacting with Ha Jung-soo, interpreting her words as “You did well.” Phone records also show Myeong-hui had been in contact with Kyung-ae one month earlier. Do-sik confronts her about the connection. Myung-hee denies the accuracy of the lip reading because the footage has no audio. She asks him to come with evidence next time instead of accusations.

Meanwhile, Do-sik’s team identifies who killed the shop owner, and they start tracking Man-hee with the help of his car plate. They inform Do-sik that he’s heading to the hospital.

Myeong-hui runs into Se-yun at the elevator area and speaks to her in a manner that suggests Tae-ju is exhausted by recent events. She refers to him as “oppa” and mentions that he has been visiting her office to talk, which leads Se-yun to question the nature of their contact.

The Husband episode 9 ends with Tae-ju learning Man-hee is heading to the hospital. He searches for Se-yun and tries to reach her by phone. Man-hee appears in front of Se-yun holding a bloodied hammer, greets her, asks for Tae-ju, and swings the hammer as she backs away.

The Husband episode 10 begins with a flashback to Man-hee and Kyung-ae’s early relationship. Man-hee is shown as a lonely, socially awkward man living simply. His neighbor Kyung-ae introduces herself, invites him to her salon, and shares food with him.

That same night, he witnesses a man assaulting her over money. Man-hee kills the attacker with a hammer. They bury the body. Kyung-ae cuts his hair, kisses him, and the two form a bond that continues into their later crimes.

In the present in The Husband episode 10, Man-hee reaches Se-yun inside the hospital. Se-yun runs, and Tae-ju arrives in time to intervene. He then follows Man-hee; a confrontation follows in which Man-hee states that Se-yun was never his real target, but it was always Tae-ju. Tae-ju informs Man-hee of the real reason Kyung-ae was rejected from the clinical trial and that Ha had been assigned to kill her. The police arrive, and Man-hee runs away.

Man-hee reveals that Myeong-hui had been in contact with them. Tae-ju learns of this deeper involvement. The next day, as Myeong-hui prepares to elope, Man-hee catches up to her by getting in her car beforehand.

At the hospital, Tae-ju inquires about Kyung-ae’s rejection from Dr. Ko, and he dismisses the reason as a criminal record. Tae-ju concludes it was because of high donations. Tae-ju remembers his past conversation with Myeong-hui and ultimately realizes that it was her who manipulated Kyung-ae. He later tells the same to Kyung-ae.

Se-yun gets to work after some rest. Tae-ju goes to her and tells her everything about the stem-cell clinical trial. She goes to her parents’ home, and again looks for the file in her father’s office. When Tae-ju gets home, he finds Se-yun waiting for him.

Tae-ju and Se-yun finally speak openly. Tae-ju tells her the full circumstances of their daughter Ha-yun’s death. Dr. Ko forced him to perform surgery on a VIP patient instead of attending to Ha-yun. He had withheld the information so Se-yun would not hate her father after the loss of their child. Se-yun absorbs the revelation, and the two share an embrace.

The Husband episode 10 closes with Man-hee confronting Choi Chi-ung, Tae-ju’s colleague and deputy director. Chi-ung is identified as the figure who manipulated Man-hee and Kyung-ae. Rather than showing fear, Chi-ung smiles.
