Vince McMahon is expected to make WWE appearances, according to a Hall of Famer. The former WWE CEO has been dealing with lawsuits after he stepped away from the promotion in 2024.

In 2023, a lawsuit was filed by WWE shareholders, alleging that the sale process of the Stamford-based promotion wasn’t transparent. He was also named in the Janel Grant lawsuit, with McMahon accused of trafficking and misconduct.

But recent developments have gone in his favor. The Janel Grant lawsuit was moved to private arbitration, and a settlement was reached in the WWE merger lawsuit. These developments have led many people to believe that Vince McMahon will return to the sports entertainment giant in the near future.

On his 83 Weeks podcast, former RAW general manager Eric Bischoff discussed this possibility. He said he isn’t buying into the idea that McMahon wants to be in the spotlight. However, Bischoff said he does see him making appearances in WWE.

“Everybody is kind of like assuming Vince wants to get back in the spotlight. I’m not sold on that. I highly doubt that we’re going to see a high-profile Vince McMahon. I think we’ll see him. I wouldn’t be surprised if he makes some smaller appearances in WWE, Hall of Fame-type appearances,” he said.

Bischoff ruled out his former boss making regular appearances on TV and said he doesn’t see him being part of a storyline.

“He’s not going to be on regular programming. I don’t see a storyline with him. I don’t see him being a face of the company in any way, shape or form. The baggage that he has with him, regardless of how these things settle out, outweighs the benefit,” he added.

Vince McMahon to pay $42.5 million in lawsuit settlement

The WWE shareholder lawsuit raised doubts in the sale process of the wrestling promotion in 2023. The lawsuit alleged that the process was not designed to seek maximum value for the shareholders.

It argued that the sale was directed towards Endeavor, ensuring Vince McMahon would be in a strong position after the sale. A trial was scheduled this year, but a settlement has been reached.

Now, according to a Bloomberg Law report, the new court filings on August 7 revealed that McMahon and his insurers have agreed to pay $42.5 million as part of the settlement.

This amount goes on top of WWE’s previously reported $105 million contribution, raising the total settlement value to $147.5 million.
