    Vedanta says ED officials visited some of its offices, Hindustan Zinc units

    Mining conglomerate Vedanta Ltd on Tuesday said officials from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) visited some of its offices as well as those of its subsidiary, Hindustan Zinc Ltd, according to a regulatory filing.

    The company informed stock exchanges that the ED team had visited certain offices of Vedanta and Hindustan Zinc, but did not disclose the nature of the inquiry or the purpose of the visit.

    “We hereby inform that the Enforcement Directorate team visited some offices of our Company and Hindustan Zinc Limited, a subsidiary of the Company,” Vedanta said in the filing.

    The company added that it was extending full cooperation to the authorities and providing all information sought during the process.

    “The Company is extending its full co-operation to the authorities and providing all information sought,” it said.

    Vedanta did not provide further details regarding the development. Hindustan Zinc, one of India’s largest integrated zinc producers, is a subsidiary of Vedanta Ltd.
