NBA announcer Jacob Tobey has reportedly been fired by the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday after he was accused of cheating by his girlfriend. According to Front Office Sports, Tobey has reportedly been accused of having an affair with someone related to a player on the team.
There were stories posted on his Instagram where Tobey admitted to being unfaithful. However, it seemed as if the posts were not from the announcer himself. The first story was a shared photo of him and Kasserine Taylor, his ex-girlfriend.

The posts have been deleted, and Tobey’s Instagram account has been set to private. The Spurs have yet to address what happened with the claims regarding what happened to their former play-by-play announcer’s personal life.

According to Cowherd, he’s surprised by the punishment that Tobey received despite not being married to his ex-partner. On Thursday, the longtime commentator touched on it at “The Herd with Colin Cowherd.”
“You can get fired in America for cheating on your girlfriend,” Cowherd said. “I had no idea that was legal. That literally happened. … not your wife, a girlfriend. Feels like he should hire an attorney.”
