The External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. Putin informed Jaishankar that sectors such as energy, fertilisers, nuclear energy and high technology would be given priority by Russia among the areas of bilateral cooperation with India.
IIT-Delhi has constituted a five-member External Inquiry Committee to probe the circumstances leading to the death of an MSc Physics student. About 300 students protested on campus demanding an independent inquiry into his death.
The Indian Railways has introduced a special drive to clean drinking water tanks and filters installed at railway stations, primarily focusing on hygiene, maintenance and water quality. The zonal railways have been advised to conduct inspections of the water sources, treatment and filtration plants, underground and overhead tanks, PVC tanks, water booths, taps and water dispensing points.
The Bihar government has announced the formation of a five-member expert committee headed by a serving or retired judge to suggest examination reforms and measures to prevent paper leaks. The panel will have three months to submit its report and will examine reforms across school, university, competitive and entrance examinations.

Indian Railways is almost at the end of completing the first high-speed test track. The Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) is developing the track at a cost of Rs 967.07 crore. The track is located between Gudha and Thathana Mithri in Rajasthan’s Nawa region, about 70 km from Jaipur.
