The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IP University) has started the online education space with the introduction of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) programmes. With the addition of these online courses, the university aims to expand access to higher education while providing digital learning technologies and academic expertise a boost.

The admission brochure for both BBA and B.Com programmes was launched on August 24, at an event held at the university’s Dwarka campus. The brochure was unveiled by IP University vice chancellor and Padma Shri awardee, Mahesh Verma. As per the official announcement, the first batch of both programmes is scheduled to kick-start from September 15, 2026.

Both programmes will be offered through the university’s Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE). BBA and B.Com programmes will have a duration of three years and will also offer multiple entry and exit options in line with the provisions outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

In accordance with the press release, the academic fee for both programmes has been fixed at Rs 15,000 per semester, making the courses accessible to a wider group of students.

The online programmes will be delivered through a SWAYAM-enabled Learning Management System (LMS), supported by the university’s institutional collaboration with IIT Madras. Experienced faculty members from IP University and its affiliated colleges have contributed to developing the academic content for students.

Students enrolled in the programmes will have access to recorded lectures, e-content, digital learning resources, weekly live interactive sessions, mentoring and learner support. Weekly live sessions will be conducted by course coordinators, making provisions for students to interact directly with faculty members, clarify doubts and receive academic guidance.

The university also declared plans to add three more programmes in online mode, namely Master of Computer Applications (MCA), MA in Mass Communication and PG Diploma in Healthcare Management, in the forthcoming months. Candidates seeking detailed information about the programmes, eligibility, admission process and other requirements can visit the official university websites ipu.ac.in and ipu.admissions.nic.in.
