Jeremiyah Love, the Arizona Cardinals’ third pick in the 2026 NFL draft, signed a fully guaranteed four-year, $53.02 million deal on May 8. It’s the biggest guaranteed contract a running back has ever received in NFL history.
Arizona’s decision to draft a running back that high drew plenty of criticism. The Cardinals finished 3-14 last season. They already have James Conner, Trey Benson and free-agent addition Tyler Allgeier in the backfield.
Jeremiyah Love made NFL history before playing a single snap

Jeremiya Love is the highest-drafted running back since Saquon Barkley went second overall to the New York Giants in 2018. Aliece was with Love in the green room on draft night and posted photos of the two together.
“I’m so proud of you babe, I can’t wait to watch you absolutely dominate in the NFL,” she wrote then.
At Notre Dame, he posted 3,014 scrimmage yards and 40 touchdowns, while averaging 7.2 yards per touch across his final two seasons.
His $13.25 million average salary per year ranks seventh among active running backs, especially for a player yet to play a single NFL game.
