AEW star Mercedes Mone hasn’t allied with a lot of stars since becoming All Elite. She joined hands with Kamille in 2024. Unfortunately, it lasted just for a few months. However, in 2025, she found another ally. Athena, one of the talented stars in ROH, has teamed up with the CEO multiple times over the past year. The duo first collided in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament quarterfinals last year. After the contest, they decided to join hands.
Athena and Mone even entered the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship tournament. Unfortunately, they didn’t advance. The two stars reunited again last week. After a long hiatus, Mercedes returned earlier this month and punched her ticket to the finals of the Owen Hart Cup. This will be her second final of the tourney, as she won the cup last year.
Mercedes Mone is set to face Maya World in the finals. The latter has defeated Athena in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament semifinal on the latest edition of Collision. After the loss, the reigning ROH Women’s World Champion joined hands with Mone and attacked the finalist. However, the 23-year-old star doesn’t seem intimidated by the veterans, as she will confront them again.
Maya World will team up with Hyan on the upcoming edition of Collision this week to take on Athena and Mercedes Mone. The Owen Hart Cup will collide one final time before locking horns at Forbidden Door.
Interestingly, the former TBS Champion will team up with the War Goddess after over six months. It will be interesting to see if the duo wrestles as a tag team on a regular basis. Fans are wondering if Maya World manages to win the Owen Hart Cup by defeating Mercedes at the pay-per-view and pulls one of the biggest upsets in the pro wrestling business.
