A major announcement has just been made regarding one of AEW’s upcoming shows. It seems that the promotion will be going against TNA in the coming months with this change.

The Jacksonville-based promotion airs two weekly shows, Dynamite and Collision, on top of their highly anticipated monthly pay-per-views. Their shows air on Wednesday and Saturday, which means that they do not clash with WWE or TNA’s weekly programming.

Per HBO Max’s schedule for July, AEW Collision is listed on July 2nd and 30th, which is a Thursday. This is nothing new, as the promotion sometimes moves its show’s time slot to avoid going head-to-head with WWE or another major sports program on Saturdays. But this now means they are going with TNA’s Thursday Night iMPACT.

AEW President Tony Khan speaks about new Paramount-WBD merger

Recently, many wondered if Tony Khan had a cause for concern as Paramount acquired Warner Bros. Discovery. The company has an affiliation with the TKO Group, which brought about questions as to whether this would have any impact on All Elite Wrestling’s TV deal.

While speaking to Joshua Goodwin, TK talked about WBD now being under Paramount, but he did not look fazed in any way. He talked about his company’s recent success and how he was looking forward to working with Paramount.

“That is a huge, exciting development for AEW. We have a great partnership with Warner Brothers and we have been on TBS for many years. We’ve been with TBS and TNT going to back to 2019 now and it’s going to continue for a long time. There is a great tradition to wrestling on TBS and TNT as a lot of listeners know and I am really proud that AEW is big part of that tradition now, so I always appreciate when people watch the shows every Wednesday on TBS, every Saturday on TNT. There is a lot of excitment on all sides about this. Paramount just coming in, drives a great relationship with the owner and Chairman of Paramount, Mr David Ellison. David Ellison is a wrestling fan, he is the same age as I am.”

One of the biggest questions surrounding AEW’s future is how the Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount merger could affect the company. I asked Tony Khan directly. Here’s what he had to say. 🎤👇 #Q93 #MorningQCrew #AEW #TonyKhan @q93alexandria @TonyKhan

There is major uncertainty regarding the company’s future on TV, but seeing as Tony Khan isn’t worried about it just yet, he may be on top of things. Fans should stay tuned to this developing situation.
