Robert Griffin III and Jemele Hill cannot seem to agree on who the current face of the WNBA is.

On Friday, the former NFL quarterback, aka “RGIII”, had gone to social media to present his case for why Caitlin Clark should bear the aforementioned title. He also addressed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s claim that A’ja Wilson deserved it more:

“The ‘Face of the WNBA’ to the players and former players is A’ja Wilson. The Face of the WNBA to the fans is Caitlin Clark. And there lies the disconnect.”

Caitlin Clark is the face of the WNBA. She just had a 45 POINT 10 ASSISTS DOUBLE DOUBLE with 4 steals, 2 blocks and 2 rebounds. Shot 11/18 from the field and 6/10 from 3 point range in 29 minutes with a +16 +/-. Other players have scored more points this year and in years

The next day, Hill, a reporter who has worked with ESPN among others, fired back by pointing out Clark’s lack of playoff success:

“There is a difference between popularity, appeal and being the face of the league. Caitlin Clark is the most popular player in the WNBA, and the biggest draw. She’s not the face because she’s not creating a new standard for winning (yet). She does not have accomplishments that people want to take (yet).”

    She continued:

“The standard for winning is A’ja. Michael Jordan became the face of the NBA because he became the standard by which every player is measured. Everyone wanted to stop him. Caitlin isn’t there.”

I appreciate the nuance in your opinion, but there is a difference between popularity, appeal and being the face of the league. Caitlin Clark is the most popular player in the WNBA, and the biggest draw. She’s not the face because she’s not creating a new standard for winning

In response, Griffin called out Hill for missing the nuance that differentiates “best player” from “most popular player”:

To put it simply, Caitlin Clark is the face of the WNBA because she is the most prominent, marketable, and recognizable individual in the WNBA. She is not currently the best player in the WNBA. That’s A’Ja Wilson. The nuance that you are missing is that being the most popular

RGIII once again calls Lionel Messi soccer GOAT in breakdown of Argentina’s 2026 FIFA WC run

RGIII has always been a staunch supporter of Lionel Messi, especially during the 2026 World Cup. And as other stars on the Argentine team emerge, he has come to appreciate the footballer’s reputation more.

A few days before Argentina defeated England in Wednesday’s semifinal match, the former Pro Bowler said on his “Outta Pocket” podcast:

“Argentina has had the most exciting games this entire World Cup. Cape Verde, Egypt, and then now Switzerland. It’s not been easy for them, per se, but they found a way to win. … Messi has eight goals; but … he didn’t score one (against Switzerland).

“So I think what is happening is the stars on Argentina’s team are realizing that defenses are designating two guys to Lionel Messi because he’s the greatest of all time … and that’s opening up opportunities for them to get one-on-nones and make shots.”

Lionel Messi is Argentina’s leading goal scorer and their leader in assists. His greatness isn’t just in goal scoring. Messi makes everyone around him better. THAT’S WHY he is the greatest of all time. 🐐

Argentina will play Spain in Sunday’s final at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Kickoff is at 3 p.m. ET.
