India veteran Rohit Sharma unleashed his trademark pull shot to register the first six of the visitors’ innings in the ongoing third ODI against England. The contest is being played at Lord’s in London on Sunday, July 19.
The moment came on the fifth ball of the eighth over of India’s innings. Josh Tongue bowled a back-of-a-length delivery that didn’t bounce much, and Rohit was onto it in a flash, dispatching it over backward square leg for a maximum.

Chasing a mammoth target of 388, India openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill made a cautious start, adding just 17 runs in the first five overs. However, the duo shifted gears in the second half of the powerplay, helping the visitors reach 49/0 after 10 overs.
At the time of writing, India were 65/0 after 12 overs, still needing 323 runs for victory, with Rohit unbeaten on 34 off 31 balls and Gill batting on 31 off 41 balls.
England’s Ben Duckett stars with the bat against India in the 3rd ODI
England won the toss and opted to bat first in the third ODI, with openers Jacob Bethell and Ben Duckett making the Men in Blue wait a long time for their first wicket. The pair added 192 runs off 181 balls for the opening wicket before Prasidh Krishna finally provided the breakthrough in the 31st over, dismissing Bethell for 91 off 93 balls, including 11 fours and two sixes.
However, his opening partner, Duckett, carried on the momentum, bringing up his century before eventually scoring 141 off 135 balls to register the highest individual score in ODIs at Lord’s. His record-breaking knock was studded with 18 fours and a six.
Veteran Joe Root continued his fine run of form, remaining unbeaten on 74 off 48 balls with nine fours, while Jos Buttler smashed 41* off just 13 balls, including four fours and three sixes, as England finished with a mammoth 387/3.
