The new Hyundai IONIQ 6 is now on sale in Turkey with an updated design, new tech, and a longer driving range.

Hyundai launches the new IONIQ 6 across Europe

After unveiling the new IONIQ 6 at the Seoul Mobility Show last year, Hyundai said it had “enhanced every line and detail” to make the electrified streamliner simpler and more progressive.

The updated design features more refined curves and new front and rear end designs, giving it a more modern look.

Up front, the new model has slim daytime running lights (DRLs) and a redesigned bumper. The rear complements the front with wing-shaped chrome garnish and an extended ducktail that replaces the spoiler to improve aerodynamics.

The updated design is also ultra-efficient with a drag coefficient of just 0.21, enabling a longer driving range.

Like the updated IONIQ 5, Hyundai overhauled the interior with a redesigned two-tone leather steering wheel, a digital side mirror, and a “bridge-type” center console that includes a wireless phone charger and physical buttons to control windows and more.

The redesigned infotainment setup includes dual 12.3″ digital screens in a panoramic curved display. The system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Hyundai held a launch event for the new IONIQ 6 in Turkey on Thursday, offering test drives and explaining the updates it brings.

The facelift model is available in Turkey in Advance and Progressive trims. Buyers can choose from two battery pack options: 63 kWh or 84 kWh, delivering WLTP ranges of up to 323 miles (521 km) and 422 miles (680 km), respectively.

Thanks to its 800-volt electrical architecture, the IONIQ 6’s battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in about 18 minutes at DC fast-charging speeds of up to 350 kW.

Other new features and equipment include the Smart Regenerative System 3.0 that adjusts regenerative braking based on navigation data, Hyundai Digital Key 2.0, V2L, and Hyundai SmartSense 1.

The new Hyundai IONIQ 6 starts at 2,482,000 TRY ($52,100) in Turkey. Hyundai announced earlier this week that it will begin mass production of the IONIQ 3 at its Izmit, Turkey, plant in mid-August, marking the first compact EV in its IONIQ lineup.

In Germany and other European countries, it’s priced from about 45,750 euros ($52,700). The new N-Line model starts at 58,300 euros ($67,200).

    Electrek’s Take

While the new IONIQ 6 is now on sale across Europe, those in the US will miss out. Hyundai confirmed that the standard IONIQ 6 has been discontinued for the US market, meaning the updated model will not make it to the States.

The high-performance IONIQ 6 N, however, is still on track to launch in the US by the end of 2026.
