Thanks for the submission!
#5. Major stipulation added to WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event
Saturday Night’s Main Event takes place tonight in New York at Madison Square Garden, and superstars are geared up for the premium live event ahead of The Biggest Party of the Summer in Minnesota. However, a major stipulation was added a match before the event.
On the recent edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Adam Pearce revealed that if Gunther and Sami Zayn defeat Cody Rhodes and CM Punk in their upcoming tag team match, they will be added to the title match at SummerSlam, making it a Fatal 4 Way for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Official card for Saturday Night’s Main Event
- Cody Rhodes and CM Punk vs. Gunther and Sami Zayn in a Tag team match
- Danhausen vs. The Judgment Day’s JD McDonagh in a No Disqualification match
- Bayley vs. Lyra Valkyria in a Singles match
- Paige and Brie Bella (c) vs. Fatal Influence’s Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
Roman Reigns and Jalen Brunson are slated to make an appearance at the premium live event in New York.
#4. Shocking update on Nick Aldis ahead of WWE SummerSlam – Reports
In 2023, Nick Aldis first appeared for the Stamford-based promotion under Triple H’s creative regime as SmackDown General Manager. The former NWA World’s Champion did an excellent job as an authority figure, but it hasn’t been the same following his interaction with Gunther.
Last week, Aldis was written off television following a brutal attack from The Ring General. On the recent edition, Adam Pearce filled in for his co-worker, and it looks like the company is set to make a major match official for The Biggest Party of the Summer in Minneapolis.
According to PWInsider, Aldis’ absence from television will eventually lead to a singles match with Gunther at SummerSlam. The announcement will be made soon, and it’ll be interesting to see which star leaves with a win at the event in Minnesota.
#3. Unfortunate update on Rhea Ripley ahead of WWE SummerSlam
Earlier this year, Rhea Ripley successfully defended her title against Jade Cargill at Clash in Italy and went on hiatus. It was later revealed that she suffered an injury and hasn’t competed in over a month. Recently, she opened up about her injury at Power Slap and revealed she’s dealing with a meniscus tear.
Before Friday Night SmackDown, WWE announced that an interim Women’s Champion will be crowned at SummerSlam in a 5 Way Ladder match. After Mami returns, both champions will face each other in a unification match to determine one champion for the brand.
As of now, Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill have qualified for the upcoming Ladder match in Minnesota. It’ll be interesting to see which star leaves The Biggest Party of the Summer in Minneapolis as the interim WWE Women’s Champion and ultimately faces Rhea Ripley in the coming months.
#2. Veteran explains why WWE doesn’t push LA Knight
LA Knight has won championships in the Stamford-based promotion, but he’s yet to win a world title under Triple H’s creative regime. The Megastar is one of the most entertaining acts on Monday Night RAW, but hasn’t got a one-on-one shot at the World Heavyweight Champion.
Speaking on Ask Dutch Anything, the veteran stated that the company has no idea how to use the former two-time United States Champion. Moreover, the former manager believes a lot can be done with LA Knight as a performer, but the creative team isn’t clicking on all cylinders when it comes to booking him on the weekly product.
The Megastar will team up with Solo Sikoa and Royce Keys at The Biggest Party of the Summer in Minnesota against The Bloodline in a six-man tag team match. It’ll be interesting to see what the company does next with LA Knight in the coming months.
#1. Tiffany Stratton suffers an unfortunate wardrobe mishap on WWE SmackDown
Tiffany Stratton returned to the Stamford-based promotion in January and has been featured in high-profile matches on the blue brand. On SmackDown following WrestleMania 42, she captured the Women’s United States Championship from Giulia, closing 90 days as the champion.
On the recent edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Tiffy Time competed in a singles match against Fatal Influence’s Jacy Jayne. Throughout the match, Stratton’s skirt and trunks kept sliding off, exposing her leggings.
Later, her top started causing issues, which pretty much kept her distracted throughout the match. Luckily, she wasn’t exposed to the crowd, quickly ended the match, and qualified for the upcoming Ladder match for the WWE Women’s Championship.
