The platform will serve as Assam’s official digital destination for regional entertainment, cultural programming, heritage content, films, music, live events and creator-led content. It will be available across mobile, web and connected TV platforms, targeting audiences in India and overseas.
The project marks a strategic shift for the listed content producer beyond traditional content commissioning into platform ownership and long-term technology services. Bodhi Tree will be responsible for platform development, content strategy, subscription management, monetisation and ongoing operations.
The company said the mandate places it at the intersection of digital public infrastructure, regional content ecosystems and government-led cultural digitisation initiatives, an area expected to gain momentum as states invest in preserving and promoting local cultural assets through digital platforms.
The platform is being built in partnership with Mogi OTT and will run on Google Cloud infrastructure, supported by a dedicated content delivery network and Kubernetes-based auto-scaling capabilities. Bodhi Tree said the technology architecture is largely complete, with branding, content onboarding and ecosystem development currently underway.
“This mandate reflects the expanding role of media companies in building digital ecosystems, not just creating content,” said Mautik Tolia, managing director and chief executive officer of Bodhi Tree Multimedia. “The project adds a new dimension to our business model through long-term platform management capabilities while creating a scalable framework that could find relevance across multiple regions.”
The company said the Assam project could become a template for similar cultural digitisation programmes by other state governments, opening up opportunities for replication as regional administrations increasingly adopt digital-first engagement models.Bodhi Tree has produced over 5,000 hours of content across more than 100 shows spanning television, OTT and digital platforms. The company believes the mandate strengthens its transition towards a business model anchored in content creation, platform management, audience engagement and recurring technology-led revenues.
