A wrestling veteran made a shocking claim about AEW’s future. Recently, WWE legend Paul Heyman said that he hopes that All Elite Wrestling makes pro-wrestling better. A former WWE personality had some major comments as a follow-up on statements by the Hall of Famer.
Jonathan Coachman recently talked about AEW vs. WWE on his podcast. On the last episode of INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Paul Heyman highlighted the importance of All Elite Wrestling in the business. He said that now talents have an alternative to WWE, which is better than what was happening in the industry in 2016-18.
Speaking on 2 Counts, Coachman agreed that All Elite Wrestling is giving stars a massive alternative to WWE. He added that the Tony Khan-led promotion will push WWE to become better down the line. The former WWE commentator made it clear that it may not be financially, but with a better product, AEW will catch up to the Stamford-based promotion on the interest level in the world of pro-wrestling.
“At some point, All Elite Wrestling is gonna force WWE to be better. They just have to. Maybe not today, but down the road they’re going to catch WWE. Maybe not financially, but in terms of fan interest, because they’re going to make WWE better,” said Coach.

Paul Heyman talked about ECW’s influence on AEW
Many veterans have talked about the influence of many major companies in pro-wrestling over AEW, like WCW and ECW. Recently, Paul Heyman had a choice of words about All Elite Wrestling’s connection with ECW, and how the two promotions are parallel to each other.
Speaking on INSIGHT, Heyman said that he believes that ECW had a major influence on how All Elite Wrestling was created. The Hall of Famer said that Jon Moxley is a version of Sandman from ECW right now. Paul believes that All Elite Wrestling has a style of Extreme Championship Wrestling.
“I look at AEW, and I realize the influence that ECW had on that project, on that product. For example, like Moxley is a total ECW Sandman, New Jack style performer,” said Heyman.
Major ECW personalities like Jerry Lynn work as a coach and producer for All Elite Wrestling. Therefore, there is a touch of Extreme Wrestling in the All Elite product. With that said, it will be interesting to see how Tony Khan and his team will take inspiration from the legendary promotion down the line.
