A top wrestler took a major jab at AEW President Tony Khan. The latter allows his wrestlers to perform in different promotions. Recently, Hook is set to wrestle a blockbuster world championship match outside of the Jacksonville-based promotion. He is currently part of the Opps and has shown great improvement recently after being bombarded with criticism in the past.
Earlier this month, it was announced that the Cold Hearted Handsome Devil will challenge GCW World Champion Atticus Cogar at America’s Most Wanted in Los Angeles on June 27. The event is scheduled for the day before Forbidden Door.
On tonight’s GCW Race against Time, Hook made his debut in the Game Changer Wrestling company and defeated Joey Janela. The former FTW Champion also confronted Atticus Cogar. The GCW World Champion didn’t hold back and insulted both him and Tony Khan during his promo, where Atticus claimed that the ‘billion dollar boss’ cannot save the AEW star during their match.
“Hook, you’re just another TV wrestler, coming for my Game Changer Wrestling World Championship. Hook, this belt, this title, this championship is an indepedent wrestling championship, which means, in Los Angeles, your billion dollar boss can’t save your a**,” he said.
AEW star Hook warns Anthony Bowens
The former FTW Champion recruited Anthony Bowens in the Opps. However, he seems to be upset with him.
On the recent edition of AEW Collision, Hook asked Anthony Bowens to stop acting like the Opps’ leader and become violent.
“Yo, enough of that. We don’t care about applause. We care about destroying anything in our path. Don’t act like you are a leader around here. Me and Shibata have been with the Opps since day one. You are the new guy. Know your place (…) This isn’t about being boys. This isn’t about being friends. This is about violence. This is the Opps, a group of k**lers. You understand that?” he said.
It will be interesting to see whether Hook can win the GCW World Championship next week.
