Charlotte Flair walked into the main event of WWE SmackDown with something more personal than championship ambitions on her mind. The Queen was looking for revenge, and a surprise return helped her get the victory over Jade Cargill.
Before the match, Flair spoke with Cathy Kelley backstage and made her intentions clear. She said she wasn’t competing to protect her legacy or prove that she was the top woman in WWE. Instead, Flair wanted payback for her injured ally, Alexa Bliss.
Thanks for the submission!
The rivalry quickly turned physical once the bell rang. The Storm used her power advantage early, taking the fight to Flair and sending her crashing into the announce table during their early exchange outside the ring. Flair eventually regained control and began using her experience to slow down Cargill.
The former WWE Women’s Champion responded with several powerful attacks of her own. Cargill appeared to have Flair in serious trouble on multiple occasions, including after a powerbomb, but The Queen repeatedly found a way to stay in the contest.
Flair eventually shifted the momentum and locked Cargill in the Figure Four before transitioning into the Figure Eight. It looked like the former AEW star could be in serious trouble, but outside interference prevented the submission.
B-Fab got onto the apron to distract the referee, allowing Michin to pull Flair away and break up the hold. That was when the situation changed completely.
Alexa Bliss’ music hit, bringing the injured star back into the spotlight. The lights went out, and when they came back on, former WWE NXT Women’s Champion Tatum Paxley was standing on the top rope. Paxley immediately launched herself onto B-Fab and Michin, taking both members of the Baddies out of the equation.
The moment also marked an emotional reunion between Bliss and Paxley, who embraced after the save.
Back inside the ring, Cargill attempted to take advantage of the distraction, but Flair caught her and turned the momentum around. The Queen hit Sister Abigail before following up with Natural Selection from the top rope. Flair then covered Cargill to secure the three-count.
After the match, Flair, Bliss, and Paxley shared an emotional hug in the ring, bringing the chaotic encounter to a celebratory close.
The victory gave Flair the revenge she had been seeking, while Bliss’ return and Paxley’s involvement added another layer to the ongoing story.
