Tony Khan addressed AEW star Anna Jay’s absence from television and revealed the reason for the same.

The 29-year-old star has been a consistent fixture for All Elite Wrestling for years. She has battled the likes of top stars in the Jacksonville-based promotion. Moreover, Anna’s notable run was her alliance with Tay Melo, collectively known as TayJay. The duo reunited earlier this year and had even earned the opportunity to challenge for the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships.

TayJay went up against the reigning champions, Divine Dominion (Megan Bayne and Lena Kross), on the June 6 episode of Collision, but lost. This was Jay’s last televised match, following which she disappeared from television. At the same time, she had previously revealed that her current deal was coming to an end; however, a recent report stated that the former Dark Order member was still under contract with All Elite Wrestling but had not re-signed.

In a recent media call for their upcoming PPV event, Redemption, Tony Khan revealed the reason for Anna Jay’s absence from television. He said that Jay was unfortunately injured and went for an MRI last week. Furthermore, Khan added that the rumors about her and her partner, Tay Melo, were inaccurate and that Jay had a good standing with the company.

Tony Khan on a Hall of Fame for AEW

In an appearance on the Battleground podcast, Tony Khan discussed the possibility of creating an AEW Hall of Fame. He first gave props to the inaugural ROH class and said he was considering launching one for his own promotion.

“The ROH class, which is a great group. They picked the group that is 5 wrestlers, four inductions. Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, Samoa Joe and The Briscoes, Mark and Jay. I think that’s 5 great wrestlers, 4 great acts to put in a Hall of Fame. I’ve never launched any AEW Hall of Fame as of yet and have not worked on the ROH Hall of Fame yet. So those are great thoughts and something to think about,” said Khan. [H/T: Drainmaker]

Should that happen, there are many deserving names for the inaugural AEW Hall of Fame, so it remains to be seen if it will happen anytime soon.
