Rhea Ripley has been absent from WWE owing to an injury. While fans have been hoping for her return at SummerSlam, that might not happen.

The Eradicator is considered to be one of the biggest names in the Stamford-based promotion, and not just the Women’s division. She sustained a knee injury recently, which has kept her away from action. While there was no official timeline for her return, many speculated that she could make a comeback at SummerSlam.

However, a report from Wrestlevotes on Fightful Select noted that there was an internal push for Rhea Ripley to take the ample time to recover fully, rather than rushing her return for SummerSlam. The report also claimed that the Stamford-based promotion believed Ripley would be fully cleared for the ring by fall.

Rhea Ripley has previously spoken about her injury keeping her away from WWE

Rhea Ripley has commented on her absence, claiming that there is no timeline for her return as of yet.

Speaking to Nina-Maria Daniele in an interview, the WWE star noted that she had sustained a tear in her meniscus. She said:

“I am. I’m [injured], sorry, I’m, unfortunately… I hurt my knee. I’ve got a slight tear in my meniscus so it’s just healing. It’s getting there. It’s getting stronger. But I can’t bend it right now, so I kind of need it to bend, guys.”

The 29-year-old SmackDown Superstar further added that she would continue to monitor how her body responds to her treatment, which would ultimately decide her return.

“I don’t know. I tore it in a really weird spot, so it’s kind of a little bit up in the air, with just like how fast my body recovers. But I’ve been out for just over a month and one week. It feels better, but it still starts to hurt and throb. It gets tired. I can’t get up or bend down really slow, so I kind of move side to side while crouching so it sucks. We will see how it goes.”

For the time being, fans will simply have to wait and see when she comes back to WWE.
