The Topolino is about the size of a golf cart, but it’s actually a street-legal EV with an electric range of up to 46 miles.

Fiat launches the Topolino EV in the US for under $14,000

Fiat is known for its small cars, such as the electric 500e hatchback, but the Topolino is even smaller.

Measuring just over 8 feet (8’3″) long, the Topolino (which we were already able to test out) is a bit bigger than an average golf cart, but it can be legally driven on the road.

As a low-speed vehicle (LSV), it’s legal on public roads with speed limits of 35 mph or less, making it perfect for driving around neighborhoods, beach towns, resorts, and more.

The 2026 Topolino is on sale in “limited quantities” through select Fiat dealers, starting at $13,995 (not including a $990 destination fee).

It’s available in two body styles: the standard Topolino and Topolino Dolcevita, which features a roll-up soft-top roof and door rope.

Powered by a 5.4 kWh lithium-ion battery and 8 hp electric motor, the mini EV can drive up to 46 miles on a single charge. For a full recharge using a 240V outlet, it takes around four hours.

While it’s currently capable of reaching up to 19 mph, owners can upgrade it to 25 mph with an LSV conversion kit to make it street legal.

The conversion kit will be available by the end of summer or fall 2026, at no extra charge. The kit also includes a rearview mirror, a backup camera, and a pedestrian alert system.

“Topolino represents a new chapter for the brand in the US,” Fiat brand CEO Olivier Francois said, adding it’s “defined not just by size, but by purpose.”

Stellantis confirmed it would bring the Topolino to the US in December. It’s on sale in Europe, starting at 9,890 euros ($11,500).

Can the Topolino help revamp the Fiat brand in the US? Last year, the brand sold just 1,321 vehicles in the US, down from nearly 44,000 in 2012, Fiat’s first full year of sales.
