The 10 Longest Nonstop Flights in the World Right Now

An Airbus (A350-1000ULR) recently spent more than 24 hours and 24 minutes in the air, flying nonstop from Melbourne to Toulouse and covering 14,338 miles. The July 2026 development flight test, conducted as part of the aircraft’s development for Qantas’ Project Sunrise, is believed to be the longest nonstop flight completed by a commercial jet airline.

But this was a test flight, not a passenger service. Among flights travelers can actually book, Singapore Airlines’ New York JFK–Singapore route still holds the distinction of being the world’s longest scheduled passenger service. It covers 9,537 miles, measured by great-circle distance (GCD), the shortest distance between two points on the Earth’s surface, and takes an average of 18 hours and 40 minutes.

There are, however, plenty of other routes that push the limits of long-haul travel. Below, we ranked the 10 longest scheduled nonstop passenger routes, by GCD. The list uses OAG Schedules Analyzer data, as published by OAG in May 2026. Flight schedules, aircraft and operating patterns can change.

    New York JFK to Singapore

    Airline: Singapore Airlines
    Distance: 9,537 miles
    Aircraft: Airbus A350-900ULR

The longest scheduled nonstop passenger flight in the world connects New York’s JFK airport with Singapore Changi. The journey can take around 19 hours, depending on winds and routing.

    Newark to Singapore

    Airline: Singapore Airlines
    Distance: 9,534 miles
    Aircraft: Airbus A350-900ULR

Just a few miles shorter than the JFK service, Singapore Airlines’ Newark to Singapore route is the second-longest scheduled nonstop passenger flight in the world. Together, the two routes occupy the top two spots in OAG’s ranking.

    Auckland to Doha

    Airline: Qatar Airways
    Distance: 9,032 miles
    Aircraft: Airbus A350-1000 / Boeing 777-200LR

This route links New Zealand with Qatar’s capital, making it one of the longest connections between Oceania and the Middle East.

    London Heathrow to Perth

    Airline: Qantas
    Distance: 9,010 miles
    Aircraft: Boeing 787-9

Qantas’ nonstop service between London and Perth is the fourth-longest route; it is also among those affected by temporary changes to flight paths and schedules amid disruptions to Middle Eastern airspace in 2026.

    Dallas to Melbourne

    Airline: Qantas
    Distance: 8,998 miles
    Aircraft: Boeing 787-9

Qantas’ direct link between Texas and Victoria makes this one of the longest passenger routes connecting the US and Australia.

Paris Charles de Gaulle to Perth

    Airline: Qantas
    Distance: 8,864 miles
    Aircraft: Boeing 787-9

At 8,864 miles, the Qantas route between Paris and Perth is the sixth-longest nonstop passenger flight in the world.

    Auckland to New York JFK

Airlines: Air New Zealand and Qantas
    Distance: 8,828 miles
    Aircraft: Boeing 787 / Boeing 787-9

Air New Zealand launched its direct New York service in 2022, and Qantas joined the route almost a year later. Before this non-stop service, travelers between these two cities had to make at least one stop, often in the US or Asia.

    Auckland to Dubai

    Airline: Emirates
    Distance: 8,823 miles
    Aircraft: Airbus A380-800

The route is among the world’s longest scheduled A380 services, operated by the world’s largest passenger aircraft. Unlike the Auckland-JFK route, which crosses the Pacific, the Dubai service heads west across the Indian Ocean, linking New Zealand with the Middle East in a single flight.

    Mexico City to Shenzhen

    Airline: China Southern Airlines
    Distance: 8,775 miles
    Aircraft: Airbus A350

This route crosses the Pacific, linking Mexico City with Shenzhen in southern China. Launched on May 11, 2024, the route operates three weekly round-trip flights using Airbus A350 aircraft.

    Los Angeles to Singapore

    Airline: Singapore Airlines
    Distance: 8,770 miles
    Aircraft: Airbus A350-900

Rounding out the list is Singapore Airlines’ nonstop service from Los Angeles to Singapore, which takes about 17 hours 40 minutes.
