Seven policemen and a civilian were injured after a police and administrative team came under stone-pelting in Sikri village, Budaun in Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday evening. The incident took place amid a dispute over the proposed installation of a Dr BR Ambedkar statue on Gram Samaj land. Several vehicles were damaged in the attack, while the situation has since returned to normal.

6 killed in bus-truck collision in Telangana’s Suryapet
Six people were killed and several others injured after a private travel bus rammed into a moving truck near Durgapuram stage in Telangana’s Suryapet district around 5.20 am on Wednesday. The bus carrying 43 passengers was travelling from Hyderabad to Vijayawada when the accident occurred. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, while the bodies were shifted to the mortuary for post-mortem examinations.

The Donald Trump administration has paused visa appointments for applicants worldwide as the US has stepped up its immigration crackdown during the President’s second term. A US State Department spokesperson on Tuesday was quoted as saying by news agency Reuters that a global training programme had been launched across all US embassies and consulates and that visa appointments will be adjusted to accommodate the training.
