    Super Bowl 50 Champion calls Jalen Hurts’ viral INT clip a “perfect example of clickbait” by Eagles

    The Philadelphia Eagles raised a few eyebrows on Wednesday after they shared a clip of their quarterback Jalen Hurts throwing an interception from training camp.

    The clip highlighted an interception made by Eagles cornerback Quinyon Mitchell on Hurts’ pass attempt. The clip went viral by racking up more than 16 million views.

    Former NFL safety T.J. Ward shared his thoughts on the clip in an appearance on the “Speakeasy” podcast. The former Super Bowl champion said it provided a “realistic view of football.”

    “This is a perfect example of clickbait,” Ward said. “They want the clicks. I kind of like it though. It’s a realistic view of football and how training camp goes. You got all these teams out here, just showing the positives of their quarterback. You see him, they’re showing picks.

    “This is a realistic play that happens in camp from one of the best corners in the league. Our defense got to make plays too and let’s put a light on our defense. We’re gonna go back to being one of the top defenses in the league, starting with Quinyon Mitchell.”

    Hurts is expected to lead the offense under new Eagles offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, who replaced Kevin Patullo in January. Hurts and the offense faced criticism for the offensive scheme under Patullo last season.

    Former Super Bowl winner backs Eagles ahead of 2026 season

    Former Super Bowl champion T.J. Ward said on the podcast episode that the Eagles will be back to being the top team in the NFC despite the criticism around Jalen Hurts after his viral interception.

    “Was it a mistake? I don’t think so,” Ward said. “You see how many views you got? We see how many haters that Jalen Hurts has? Obviously, people gonna like to hate, love to hate. 16 million views. Looks like a win for the Eagles when they know on Sunday, regardless, they’re gonna be a top team in NFC.”

    The Eagles face off against the Baltimore Ravens in their first preseason game over the weekend.
