Roman Reigns was just squashed in the main event of Monday Night RAW on July 13. It was quite a shocking and rare moment, as this rarely happens to The OTC.
This week, the main event of RAW was advertised as a contract-signing segment between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins for their match at SummerSlam 2026. With their careers drawing to a close with each passing day, this might just be the final chapter in their shared history.
Thanks for the submission!
For those who don’t know, Seth Rollins has a surprisingly one-sided record against Roman Reigns in singles matches. While Reigns has technically defeated Rollins before, he never beat him when it truly mattered in a singles match, and this has been a psychological point of contention for the OTC. On one hand, he is the undisputed #1 superstar of this generation, while Rollins is a clear #2. Despite this, the record favors Rollins, and it is a major psychological edge for him. The entire promo in the main event of the contract signing was a psychological edge, with Reigns taking a shot at the numerous injuries that Rollins suffered.
The segment ended with Seth Rollins standing tall after he smacked Reigns’ head with a microphone, preventing a powerbomb. He hit the pedgiree and the stomp to stand tall in a stunning moment.
What’s interesting is that there are still two entire episodes of RAW to go to build up to the big show. Reigns will be in New York City this weekend for Saturday Night’s Main Event, where he will have an acknowledgment ceremony with New York Knicks captain and megastar Jalen Brunson. Brunson, who became a global star overnight after the Knicks’ NBA season victory, is a vocal WWE fan, and it will be fun to see what happens and how it all plays out.
