Manchester United fans have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to vent their frustration at a star’s inclusion in the starting eleven for the Nottingham Forest clash.

Manchester United play their final home game of the season against Forest. Senne Lammens keeps his place in the starting XI as the goalkeeper. Diogo Dalot and Luke Shaw will play as full-backs. Lisandro Martinez partners with Harry Maguire in the heart of defense.

Casemiro, who is playing his final home game for the Red Devils, will play as the defensive midfielder. Kobbie Mainoo will play alongside him. Bruno Fernandes captains the side and will play as the attacking midfielder in the lineup

Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Amad Diallo start in attack as Benjamin Sesko misses out through injury. Fans have questioned Amad’s inclusion in the Manchester United lineup. In 30 matches played in the Premier League, Amad has registered only 2 goals and 2 assists this season.

One fan claimed he is not comfortable with Amad’s inclusion in the XI:

Bruno Fernandes is chasing the PL assist record, he currently has 19 assists, one behind joint-record holders Thierry Henry and Man City icon Kevin De Bruyne. One fan believes Amad’s inclusion will prevent Fernandes from hitting that record.

A win over Nottingham Forest guarantees the Red Devils a third-place finish in the league table. They will play their final game away from home at Brighton.

Michael Carrick speaks on his future at Manchester United

Speaking before the game against Nottingham Forest, Carrick provided an update on his future at the club in the pre-match presser. He said (via BBC):

“There are two games to go, there’s not much else I can say. The situation is pretty clear for us all. Same as. It doesn’t change what we are doing this week.”

He then explained what it means for him to be in charge of the Red Devils:

“I’m immensely proud. As a supporter and ex-player and caring about the club so much, to come back and help and move the club forward was important. To make a big step and get back in the Champions League is good. We’re happy with the work we’ve done so far.”
