AEW star Kyle Fletcher is set to face a top star for the International Championship. The Protostar has been one of the most dominant champions in the Jacksonville-based promotion. Tonight, at Redemption, he defeated Bandido in a blockbuster match. The masked star put on a great fight but couldn’t topple the champion.

Also, in the opening match of Redemption, Mike Bailey defeated El Clon, Jack Perry, Komander, Beast Mortos and Nick Wayne in a dynamic ladder match. Speedball was the one to grab the hanging contract, which means that he will be getting a shot at the International Champion in the future. Fans are happy that he won the match in front of his hometown in Canada.

During Redemption, Mike Bailey appeared backstage and made a huge announcement. After congratulating Andrade for capturing the National Championship, Speedball revealed that he will cash in his guaranteed International Championship shot against Kyle Fletcher at AEW Grand Slam Mexico, which is going to happen on August 5 in Arena Mexico.

“I had the best match of my life. I have been coming to this arena ever since I was a small child. So tonight, I lived a dream. Standing on top of that ladder, in front of my family, my friends, my people and grabbing this contract that guarantees me a shot at the International Championship. And since it’s the International Championship, I’m gonna call my shot for Wednesday, August 5th, AEW Grand Slam in Arena Mexico,” he said.

Kyle Fletcher and Mike Bailey have faced each other before. Their matches have received great praise from the fans. It will be interesting to see what goes down in their upcoming International Championship match.
