Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a combined deal worth £69 million to sign Alejandro Balde and Eduardo Camavinga from Barcelona and Real Madrid, respectively. As per PacoJo Delgado, the Red Devils are planning to secure the deals before the transfer window shuts on Tuesday.
Michael Carrick has made it clear that his team need more signings even after the arrivals of Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Karl Darlow. Manchester United have since signed Carlos Baleba from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Thanks for the submission!
However, the need for a new left-back, potentially a centre-back and another striker also remains. Initially, Lewis Hall emerged as the main target for Manchester United at left-back. But his departure from Newcastle United looks unlikely at this stage.
Alejandro Balde is believed to be up for grabs this summer and United have shifted their interest to the Barcelona defender. He was left out of the Catalans’ squad that faced Elche in their opening game of the La Liga season. It has been claimed that United want to sign Balde in a £26 million deal.
The reports of the Premier League giants wanting to sign Eduardo Camavinga come as a bit of a surprise. United have added three new midfielders to their ranks and it remains to be seen if the rumored £43 million move for the Real Madrid midfielder comes to fruition.
Manchester United will be hoping to finalise the deals at the earliest. After securing a return to the Champions League, they will need strength in depth to deal with the additional fixtures.
Manchester United working on deal to offload Joshua Zirkzee: Reports
Reports have now claimed that Manchester United are working on a deal to offload Joshua Zirkzee. The Dutchman, who made the switch to Old Trafford in 2024, has been deemed surplus to requirements by Carrick.
Zirkzee remained on the bench as an unused substitute even while United were chasing the game during their Premier League loss to Hull City last Saturday. Fiorentina have begun talks to sign the forward in an initial loan deal. The Serie A club will pay €5 million as loan fee for the player, with a clause to make the signing permanent if needed.
Talks are progressing between Fiorentina and United, with the Serie A club also in touch with Zirkzee’s camp. It remains to be seen if the Red Devils pursue a new deal for a striker after they offload Zirkzee.
