Real Madrid have an agreement in place to sign Granada defender Oscar Naasei on a permanent basis before the transfer window closes, as per reports. The 21-year-old represents the latest capture for Los Blancos, and will go straight to their Castilla team this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have paid €2 million for the Ghana international, who has already undergone a medical ahead of signing. They moved quickly for the talented defender to beat interest in his services from a club in Germany, and they have now managed to find an agreement.

Oscar Naasei left his native Ghana for Granada in 2023, and worked his way through the ranks at the Spanish club to become a first-team regular. He played 39 times across all competitions for them in the 2025-26 season, with 37 of his appearances coming in LaLiga 2, the second division of Spanish football.

The youngster has appeared twice for Granada this season, both in the league, before completing his move to Real Madrid. He will now team up with the Castilla side, where he will compete with the likes of Joan Martinez, Mario Rivas, and Lamini Fati for a starting berth in the third tier of Spanish football.

Naasei will likely jump to the front of the queue of young defenders available to play for Jose Mourinho‘s side in case of any injuries throughout the season. His experience and age make him an ideal option for the squad, seeing as only one senior centre-back, Ibrahima Konate, was brought in this summer.

Real Madrid continue fine start to 2026-27 season

Real Madrid have continued their fine start to life under Jose Mourinho with a 4-1 win over Real Sociedad. The win moves them to the summit of LaLiga momentarily, with rivals Barcelona yet to play their second game of the campaign.

Kylian Mbappe opened his account for the season in the 40th minute, before Luka Sucic equalised for Real Sociedad just four minutes later. Mbappe found the net again in the 60th minute to put his side 2-1 up after good interplay with Jude Bellingham.

Bellingham set up Vinicius Junior to make it 3-1 to Los Blancos in the 67th minute of the encounter, before Mbappe completed his hat-trick in the 80th minute. There was still time for a goal from Brahim Diaz, although the VAR ruled it out for an offside by Carlos Espi in the build-up.
