A major WWE star claimed that there was something special about Zilla Fatu. The 26-year-old is the son of wrestling legend Umaga and made his NXT debut on August 11.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, WWE star Natalya shared that she recently had a backstage conversation with Zilla Fatu and noted that there was something special about him. She added that Fatu was already getting people to watch NXT upon his arrival in the company.

“I was talking to Zilla backstage, and I was saying to him, ‘You do have something so special about you, and the numbers don’t lie.’ People are interested, and he is making people tune in to NXT, and that speaks volumes. Whether you like him, whether you hate him, people are watching, and he has a presence about him. He’s coming in with tons of confidence. And so it is hard not to watch him,” she said.
The former champion added that Fatu’s presence has also motivated the rest of the NXT locker room to be better.
“Everybody is tuning in, and yeah, he comes from a famous family; I totally get it. But if it is p***ing off the other talent to want to do their absolute best work, then he serves his purpose just in that alone,” she added.
Tony D’Angelo is scheduled to defend the NXT Championship against Zilla Fatu, Cruz Montana, and Grayson Waller this weekend at WWE NXT Heatwave.
Zilla Fatu addresses botch in promo on WWE NXT
NXT star Zilla Fatu addressed accidentally labeling himself a “nympho baby” instead of a “nepo baby” in a recent promo.
The Main One was featured in a vignette on WWE NXT earlier this week and commented on the botch. Fatu noted that he created his own path to get to WWE and was not just going to be another member of The Bloodline.
“Because I am not just another nepo baby, nympho baby, Bloodline baby. Whatever you want to call it. I’m a grown a** man who paved his own way to get here. And yeah, I get excited when I talk. But I even get excited when it is time to throw down. You see, I ain’t going to lie; everywhere I go, drama here, drama there. Controversy here, controversy there. Because it is part of the Zilla Fatu show. Believe that.”
It will be interesting to see if the popular star can capture the NXT Championship at Heatwave this Sunday night.
