In an unexpected turn of events, Kenny Omega offered positive words for MJF following MJF’s AEW World Title win over the Salt of the Earth at Dynamite: Beach Break.
Kenny Omega took his rightful place at the top of the All Elite Wrestling ecosystem after reclaiming the promotion’s top prize from MJF at Dynamite: Beach Break last night. The Cleaner achieved the feat in brutal fashion, hitting Friedman with three V-triggers and the One-Winged Angel to finish. This victory has kicked off Omega’s second reign with the title, which comes nearly 5 years after the first.
After Beach Break went off the air, Omega addressed the Florida crowd and, surprisingly, gave MJF props. The Cleaner said that the Big Hebrew set a good example as champion, but also added that he will look to become a champion he’ll be jealous of. The same clip was uploaded by AEW on X as a Kenny Omega exclusive.
“MJF, I will give you credit. You never had to take this match. You never had to defend the belt as much as you did. You never had to show up every single week, but you did. And, as far as I’m concerned, that sets a good example. MJF, not only will I be the best champion I can be, but I’ll be a champion that even you are jealous of,” said Omega. AEW World Champion Kenny Omega says he’s closer to the end
Before giving MJF his props, in the same AEW exclusive, Kenny Omega poured his heart out, thanking fans for their continued support that has led him to become World Champion. Interestingly, the Cleaner briefly touched on how long he would be champion, saying the title would be around his waist until he meets a challenger willing to push hard enough. He also admitted that he is nearer the end than the beginning of his journey.
So from now until someone is good enough, someone is willing to sacrifice enough, someone is willing to push hard enough, this (the belt) right here is going to stay around my waist. I can promise you that. I may be nearer the end than the beginning of this journey, but what counts is that you finish hard and you finish the race. No matter how hard everything is, you FINISH THE RACE!,” said Omega.
It has now been confirmed that Kenny Omega will defend the AEW World Championship against Will Ospreay at All In: 2026, which will be held at Wembley Stadium in London.
