Julio Rodriguez’s sister, Odette, was cheering for Team Dominican Republic at the 2026 World Baseball Classic

Boasting several major league superstars like Julio Rodriguez, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Fernando Tatis Jr. on the roster, while being coached by legendary slugger Albert Pujols, it was not surprising to see the Dominican Republic Baseball team favored by many fans and experts alike to win the 2026 World Baseball Classic.

While Julio was hard at work on the field, his sister, Odette, was in the stands, cheering for her nation. On March 6, she posted a series of snaps from LoanDepot Park in Miami, making her allegiance clear.

“I come from a land, and I carry it in my blood 🩸. God bless the DR,” Odette Rodriguez captioned her Instagram post in Spanish.

The Dominicans got off to a flying start, winning all three of their games in pool play to finish the first phase of the tournament as the top-seeded team in Pool D. Then, they made light work of Team Korea in the quarterfinals, beating them 10-0.

They met their match in the semifinals, facing off against the bookies’ favorites, Team USA. Despite taking the lead, Julio Rodriguez and company ended up losing 2-1, bringing their dream run to an end.
