Social media influencer and former collegiate-level basketball player, Julian Newman, has recently entered the streaming world, making collaborations with major industry players like Rangesh “N3on.” Julian was recently accused of abuse by his “ex-girlfriend,” and he issued a statement soon after, claiming her documentation of the alleged abuse was “one-sided.”
Julian Newman’s recent virality comes soon after his sister Jaden Newman’s alleged private video leak brought his family back into the spotlight, and Julian publicly commented on it, including saying the controversy could make Jaden “bigger than Kim Kardashian.”
Now, a few weeks later, on August 25, 2026, Julian’s ex-girlfriend, who goes by @janayaaberry on TikTok, shared multiple compilation videos titled “The real Julian Newman.” In the video, Julian was seen seemingly slapping Janaya’s wrist and raising his voice at her, saying:
“You ugly ****! You want to disrespect me and not listen to me ever?!”
The compilation also included pictures of what appeared to be bruises and marks on her legs and arms. In another “part two” video, Janaya accused the influencer of punching her. Further, in the same video, she apparently confronted him about having pictures of another girl on his phone:
“I don’t care, you punched me in my mouth, I’m a girl… You have photos… You have a *****’s *** in your phone.”
Julian responded to these claims, saying he ended their “unhealthy and toxic relationship” a few months ago:
“My ex-girlfriend recently posted a video presenting a one-sided version of our relationship and events that have taken place. For the past two years, I supported her personally, professionally, and financially, and played a significant role in helping her build her own career. A few months ago, I ultimately made the decision to end what had become an unhealthy and toxic relationship.”
“There are always two sides to a story”: Julian Newman addressed the allegations of abuse against him
During the weekend leading up to his fight against fellow influencer Thiirty on Adin Ross’s Brand Risk 15 event on August 22, 2026, Julian Newman claimed Janaya followed him to hotels where he would do “weigh-ins”:
“This past week, she traveled across the country and appeared at locations where she knew I would be, including a hotel where my team and I were conducting weigh-ins. We made every effort to avoid confrontation and go our separate ways, but issues continued throughout the fight weekend.”
He then spoke about there being “two sides to a story”:
“Since ending the relationship, I have chosen to move forward in my life, which includes dating other people. After seeing me on streams and dates, she chose to publicly share her version of events. However, there are always two sides to a story, especially when it comes to a complicated relationship.”
Further, he mentioned the timing of Janaya’s visit and that he had evidence to back his defence:
“I have videos, recordings, text messages, and other information that can provide additional context and tell a very different side of this story. I have no intention of publicly embarrassing her or releasing private material simply to retaliate. I genuinely wish her well, and hope we all can move forward separately. The timing of these accusations, particularly while I was on a date with Celina Powell, is difficult to ignore.”
Overall, Julian Newman said he is “focused on moving forward,” “protecting his peace,” and putting “this chapter” behind him.
In other news, Jeff Teague’s podcast co-host B-Hen called out Julian Newman over his ‘s*xualized’ sister claim.
