Jisoo: “Their faces say something different”

On August 9, 2026, Jisoo spoke about the members’ silence during BLACKPINK’s 10th anniversary activities. The group marked a decade since their debut on August 8 with a limited meet-and-greet for 40 fans at the National Museum of Korea in Seoul and a short Weverse livestream.

The scale of the gathering, the late announcement, and the restrained participation in the livestream drew heavy criticism from fans. During the live, Jisoo directly addressed the disappointment caused to fans because of the limited celebration. However, several fans noticed that members Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa made no comments. They only did the basic greetings and small talk. This led to widespread disappointment.

On the anniversary day, Jisoo had already addressed the growing concerns through her official app, Jisoo.app. She wrote that the anniversary felt like a day filled with regret and that seeing so many fans upset weighed heavily on her. She emphasized that she had never forgotten how fans made BLACKPINK shine, apologized for the disappointment, and expressed gratitude and affection.

Following BLACKPINK’s 10th anniversary event, Jisoo shared a new set of messages. She addressed the difficulty the members faced in speaking more openly during the livestream. She said:

“Because it’s hard to tell the line between things you want to say, things you can say, things you’re allowed to say, and things you don’t really have to say, I think yesterday it was tough for everyone to bring themselves to speak up easily!”

She continued by stating that all four members love the fans deeply and hold them in high regard. She then directly addressed the disappointment caused by them not speaking much. She urged fans not to make “assumptions.” She wrote:

“The misunderstandings and hurt feelings that happen because we didn’t talk it… I know it must feel frustrating too, but our 10th anniversary is something we should’ve been celebrating together (even though I already made you guys upset), I think more than anything I really hope there won’t be any more negative talk or baseless assumptions that just keep spiriling.”

After these messages were shared on X, fans continued to show division. Some suggested that members’ facial expressions and body language appeared at odds. They continued to call out the members. Others accepted Jisoo’s explanation and asked others to wait until the contract expiration.

One fan shared a short clip from the anniversary live and said:

“Well their faces say something different”

Well their faces say something different

Some fans continue to doubt the group’s silence.

You’re an adult and you’ve left that damn agency, yet you still need permission to say “WTF”? You might as well have not left that damn agency, girl.

Why would they have to fight for an anniversary? All of YG’s other groups had theirs without issue. Yall need to stop acting like it’s all YG’s fault when it’s been pretty clear the girls prioritize their solo careers over BLACKPINK. They’re grown adults, hold them accountable

So Jisoo did plan something else and postponed it because of the backlash and cried so every blink will say she was the only one cared about the anniversary. Lisa had to receive all the hate. Nice “sister”.

I’m sorry, but tbh blackpink clear they don’t care about the group anymore with everyone focusing on solo projects Solo success rarely lasts past the first two albums Smart artists know they need constant group comebacks to keep their momentum alive

Several fans came in defense, supporting Jisoo’s statement. Some believe that BLACKPINK is internally “fighting” with YG Entertainment. A few fans called out others for leaving the fandom before their contract expiration.

Any “Blink” who sides with YG is an idiot. You want to criticize the girls in a proper way, that’s fine. But actually believing YG’s propaganda? 😂All these Blinks who claim they’re leaving the fandom now are clowns. At least wait until later this year.

I feel like this just means they’re fighting with yg or something is going behind the scenes and they can’t talk about it but we should support the girls no matter what

Oh ik it, my pinks just trying so hard to hold back avoiding law suit against them it is a matter between their contracts i hope this jisoo message reaches all the blonks world f**k y’all!

in simple words, there’s something going on btw yg and the girls. which cant be disclosed atm, so dont assume things

BLACKPINK’s Jisoo shares more on her app, her solo album, and Salomon

Jisoo also talked about reactions to crying after BLACKPINK’s 10th anniversary event. Fans questioned whether BLACKPINK is disbanding. Addressing this, she wrote that she saw many people were surprised.

    She said:

“I saw a lot of people were surprised because I cried yesterday! I’m a human too! I can’t believe I’m not a robot”

In another part of the same series of messages, Jisoo noted that it was the first time she cried somewhere people could see her. She asked:

“Since it was the first time I cried somewhere you could see me, maybe this time I was the most sincere and the most upset person.? But I don’t think that’s the case for me! Just because I didn’t cry during the tour doesn’t mean I wasn’t moved! hehe”

BLACKPINK’s Jisoo also went live on her app the same day. Fans asked about her solo album. She replied that she was not going to talk about it because she wants to discuss it only when things are “certain.”

In other news, Jisoo attended a Salomon event as a global ambassador. On August 10, 2026, she attended the grand opening of the brand’s new flagship store in Beijing, where she cut the ribbon. She has also appeared in the brand’s Blue Perspective and Diverse Blue campaigns.
