Merab Dvalishvili recently shared his thoughts on the Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano fight and explained why the latter should step inside the cage again.
Rousey and Carano went up against each other in a highly anticipated comeback fight in the headliner of the MVP MMA 01 event at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles earlier today. The event was promoted by Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) and was streamed live on Netflix.
While many expected fireworks, Rousey’s grappling proved too much for Carano to handle, and the Olympian caught her in an armbar just seconds after the opening bell. Rousey ended up winning the fight via first-round submission.
In a video posted to his socials, Dvalishvili shared his reaction to Carano’s loss and urged the ‘Mandalorian’ star to continue fighting. He said;

“Wow. I can’t believe what just happened. I train with Gina Carano, and she’s so good. It was hard to take her down and [put her in a] clinch and submit her. She has good striking, but Ronda Rousey made it look easy. It’s crazy for me. I think Gina Carano has to fight one more time at a minimum.”
He added:
“She has to show how good she is, because I know, I train with Gina Carano. So, congratulations to the legend Ronda Rousey, great fight. It was so quick. I know how good this fight could be. I believed that Gina Carano could win this fight. Like I said, I train with her, and I know how good she is.”
Rousey made her return to the cage after almost a decade. Before this, she went up against Amanda Nunes in a women’s bantamweight fight at UFC 207 in December 2016, losing via first-round knockout.
Meanwhile, Carano stepped inside the cage after 17 years away from the sport. The 44-year-old was coming off a first-round knockout loss against Cris Cyborg in August 2009.
