Hyundai’s biggest sales promo of the year, the Getaway Summer Sales Event, kicked off this month with competitive offers on its most popular vehicles, including EVs.

Hyundai launches aggressive EV summer sales offers

Hyundai has made it this far by selling vehicles that offer a bit more value than the competition. As it aims for its sixth consecutive record sales year in the US in 2026, Hyundai is leaning into that reputation.

After investing billions to boost production and expand its local supply chain in Alabama and Georgia, Hyundai said it can now pass the savings on to buyers.

Hyundai already has one of the most affordable lineups, with 18 models starting under $50,000 and 8 under $30,000.

The new summer offers help make Hyundai vehicles, including EVs, “more attainable than ever,” with 0% APR financing on select models, a retail cash bonus of up to $10,000, and flexible leasing terms.

Hyundai’s EVs received the biggest discounts, including up to $10,000 in Retail Bonus Cash on all 2026 IONIQ 9 trims, or up to $7,000 off the 2026 IONIQ 5.

Separately, both are available with 0% APR financing for up to 72 months, plus an extra $3,000 off the IONIQ 9 ($1,000 for the IONIQ 5), and 0 payments for 90 days.

The base 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 SE Standard Range RWD is listed for lease starting at just $269 per month. That’s for a 24-month lease with $3,999 due at signing. While that’s about as cheap as monthly leases get nowadays, that might not be the best deal.

Your best bet is the IONIQ 5 SE RWD, which costs just $10 more per month at $279. The SE RWD offers an EPA-estimated range of up to 318 miles on a single charge, compared to just 245 miles for the Standard Range model.

Although it’s about the size of the Tucson, the IONIQ 5 has a longer wheelbase than the three-row Palisade, opening up more interior space.

If the IONIQ 5 isn’t big enough, Hyundai also offers the three-row IONIQ 9. Both are built at Hyundai’s Metaplant outside of Savannah, GA.

With up to 163.4 cubic feet of passenger space, the Hyundai IONIQ 9 offers more interior space than the Ford Explorer (152.9 cubic feet).

The 2026 IONIQ 9 S RWD, with an EPA-estimated range of 335 miles, is listed for lease at $369 per month. That’s over $100 a month cheaper than the Palisade Hybrid, with leases starting at $479 per month. It’s even less than the Kia EV9, which starts at $379 per month.

After the federal EV tax credit expired at the end of September, Hyundai cut prices on the IONIQ 5 by up to $9,800 on some trims.

The lower prices “reflect Hyundai’s commitment to affordability and its long-term strategy,” the company said.

2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 Trim Driving Range (miles) Starting Price* 2026 Monthly Lease Price in July
IONIQ 5 SE RWD Standard Range 245 miles $35,000 $269
    IONIQ 5 SE RWD 318 miles $37,500 $279
    IONIQ 5 SEL RWD 318 miles $39,800 $319
    IONIQ 5 Limited RWD 318 miles $45,075 $409
IONIQ 5 SE Dual Motor AWD 290 miles $41,000 $339
IONIQ 5 SEL Dual Motor AWD 290 miles $43,300 $379
IONIQ 5 XRT Dual Motor AWD 259 miles $46,275 $419

So far it’s been paying off. We had the chance to visit the Metaplant in April, where Hyundai told Electrek that its electric IONIQ models are attracting new buyers to the brand with higher conquest rates than its ICE and HEV vehicles.

The IONIQ 5 had a 69.8% conquest rate last year, while the three-row IONIQ 9 had a 64.3% conquest rate.

Through the first half of 2026, the IONIQ 5 has been among America’s best-selling electric vehicles outside of Tesla.

With leases starting at just $269 (or $279 for the longer-range model) per month, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 is considerably cheaper than most competitors right now, including the Tesla Model Y ($459 per month), Chevy Equinox EV ($539 per month), and Toyota bZ ($379 per month).

At least one Hyundai dealer is struggling to keep up with demand for electric vehicles. A report from Vermont’s WCAX news a few weeks ago said that demand for EVs has been overwhelming amid higher gas prices, and Burlington Hyundai ran out of inventory. The dealership now has EV buyers on a waitlist.

Hyundai’s Getaway Summer Sales event runs through Labor Day on August 3, 2026.
