    AJ Styles and Dragon Lee formed a tag team during Styles’ final days as a WWE Superstar. Together, they never came up with an official team name, but Lee had an interesting suggestion.

    Styles and Lee won the WWE World Tag Team Championships and held them for 70 days before losing to The Usos. Styles then returned to singles action and lost to Gunther at the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event, leading to his retirement from in-ring competition.

    Speaking on INSIGHT, Lee revealed that he pitched the “Phenomenal Dragons” name for his tag team with Styles. However, the name was never used on WWE television, as Styles proceeded to retire shortly after.

    “Yeah, AJ Lee, right? Yeah, it was fun. We didn’t have enough time to create a name, but I pitched this name, and I think it would have been so great, the Phenomenal Dragons. I feel like that name would be so great, Phenomenal Dragons. AJ Styles has his logo, I said this logo becomes like kind of like a dragon around it, something we can do. But I didn’t realize that he wouldn’t have enough time, he would be retired, nobody expected it.” said Lee [H/T: INSIGHT]

    Dragon Lee felt honored to be a part of AJ Styles’ final matches

    Dragon Lee teamed up with AJ Styles during the final days of his WWE career. He reflected on the same and claimed that he was proud of himself.

    During the same conversation, Lee also talked about being a part of John Cena’s final WWE show, where he teamed up with Styles to face Leon Slater and Je’Von Evans.

    “I feel honored to be part of his last matches, and even John Cena’s last match [event], I was part of that too. I feel like you know so many things that I’m proud of myself, you know, because if you’re not, if you don’t recognize yourself, who else will? You just look at the mirror and say, ‘You’re doing well, keep working. I’m proud of you, brother. Keep working.’ My family, that’s it, that’s all the energy I need.”

    Lee was in action on the latest edition of Monday Night RAW, where he teamed up with Evans in a losing effort to The Vision.
