The Aurora Mutation is a Mutation introduced with Grow a Garden 2 Update 1. It was included as part of the Aurora Weather, which can occur during regular gameplay. Upon affecting a Crop, the Mutation applies a massive value multiplier along with a visual change. Currently, the Aurora Mutation is the most valuable and the rarest out of all Mutations available in the game.
This guide explores the Aurora Mutation in detail, going over its acquisition chances and value multiplier in Grow a Garden 2.
About the Aurora Mutation in Grow a Garden 2

The Aurora Mutation is intrinsically tied to the activation of the Aurora Weather, a new Weather condition introduced with Update 1. Like the other Weather conditions in the game, the Aurora Weather randomly occurs during regular gameplay. It is among the rarest Weather conditions in the game alongside Snowfall and Starfall, which makes the Aurora Mutation quite elusive by extension.
Once the Aurora Weather occurs, it remains active for two minutes. While the Weather is active, the Aurora Mutation may be applied to random Crops in your garden. The odds of the Mutation being applied to Crops are fairly low. As such, any Crop affected by the Mutation are inherently of high value.
Crops with the Aurora Mutation receive a purplish color, along with a massive 90x value multiplier. As of Update 1, this multiplier is the most potent of all Mutations currently in the game. Note that it’s not possible to stack Mutations in this game, meaning you can only have one Mutation active on a harvest.
So, if you’re looking to make the most out of a particular Crop, try to ensure it has the Aurora Mutation. For example, a 15 kg Moon Bloom with the Aurora Mutation sells for a value of 3,780,000 Sheckles. Without the Mutation, it would only sell for 42,000 Sheckles instead, making the Mutation the most important factor in maximizing the value of your Crops.
