Gina Carano has hit out at conspiracy theories that Conor McGregor’s fight at UFC 329 was rigged. The Irishman lost the fight just a minute after his knee blew out.

McGregor made his return after five years and spoke about this being the best version of himself. However, some suggested that McGregor was carrying an injury coming into the fight, and that played a role in the quick finish.

Carano, too, had been in the center of controversy regarding her loss to Ronda Rousey at MVP MMA 1. That fight lasted just 17 seconds, and rigging accusations were levelled at that fight too.

However, Carano slammed the fight-fixing accusations and posted a lengthy statement on X:

“You know how much trouble you get in if anything is off or the fight is rigged in a professional fight, especially ones where huge money is involved? The FBI is all over this sport presently, if you’ve been paying attention. If someone’s going to rig a fight, 2026 would be the absolute dumbest time to do that.”

Carano also spoke about how MMA doesn’t always provide storybook endings, and that the unpredictable nature of the sport makes it so “great.”

She also lauded McGregor for making his return after a long time out, and even hinted that Rousey and she had done a lot to get back to the octagon:

“Any fighter who gives it their all, steps into a fight turns their life around, to become the best version of themselves and to inspire others has my full respect.”

    She continued:

“It’s one of the hardest sports in the world and the most vulnerable. And to reach career heights and then come back after a 5, 10, or 17 year layoff takes balls most people don’t even know exist, especially when it’s not something you have to do but something you choose to do.”

Carano finished off by claiming that all the ups and downs are God’s plan, and you learn from it all:

“You wonder, ‘God, why did it have to go that way after all the sacrifice and hard work?!’ But ultimately His will be done. Then you live, you learn, and you move forward.”

    She continued:

“The journey isn’t over, in a way it’s a whole new beginning. If you’re not failing, you’re not trying.”

Conor McGregor breaks silence after shock UFC 329 ending

Conor McGregor didn’t speak to Joe Rogan after the fight. He walked straight out of the arena and looked devastated at how the fight panned out.

The Irishman, however, opened up on the loss on social media and confirmed that he didn’t carry any injury going into the fight, and couldn’t understand what happened:

“My head gasket is gone. Destroyed. I had no injury / injuries going into the fight. I was throwing kicks, planted and jumping, all throughout camp as well as backstage before the fight. This came out of nowhere. I am beyond dark here. I can only describe it as hell.”
