
Sweden is part of the EU’s so-called “frugal” bloc, alongside Germany and the Netherlands – net contributors pushing to rein in the bloc’s next long-term budget and limit the cost for national taxpayers. But a shift to the left in Stockholm is unlikely to soften its position.
