Rajasthan Royals (RR) wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel departed immediately after completing a quickfire half-century in the IPL 2026 Eliminator against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) at New Chandigarh Stadium on Wednesday, May 27. The right-handed batter slammed a six off Praful Hinge to bring up his 20-ball fifty, his sixth half-century of this season.

That came as Hinge bowled a short delivery outside off in the 14th over. Jurel went for a cut shot towards the backward point, and Sakib Hussain got his fingers close to the ball as he leapt in the air, but it sailed over for a maximum. The pacer followed that up with another shorter delivery, and Jurel miscued it towards Nitish Reddy near deep square leg.

With over 500 runs, Dhruv Jurel is the second-highest run-getter for the Royals this season.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Dhruv Jurel’s knocks leave SRH struggling against RR in IPL 2026 Eliminator

Led by Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a clinical batting display has helped RR dominate SRH in the IPL 2026 Eliminator. The southpaw slammed 97 runs off 29 balls at a strike rate of 334.48, including 12 maximums and five boundaries. During his fiery knock, he became the leading run-scorer of this season. Meanwhile, Dhruv Jurel and Yashasvi Jaiswal also chipped in with 50 (21) and a run-a-ball 29, respectively.

At the time of writing, RR were 207/4 after 15.2 overs, with Donovan Ferreira and Dasun Shanaka at the crease. Skipper Riyan Parag was the last batter to be dismissed, perishing for 26 off 12, holing out to long-on. Praful Hinge has been the pick of the bowlers for SRH, bagging three wickets.

SRH and RR finished at No. 3 and 4, respectively, in the IPL 2026 points table. As a result, they are playing a knockout match, where the winning team will progress to Qualifier 2.

Meanwhile, defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have already thrashed Gujarat Titans (GT) by 92 runs to reach back-to-back finals. Having said that, the Titans will get another chance as they finished in the top two in the points table. They will play IPL 2026 Qualifier 2, where the winning team will secure the only vacant spot for the summit clash.
