Chad Gable should prepare for his WWE exit, according to a six-time Intercontinental champion. Gable has been with the promotion for over a decade and has consistently put on solid matches whenever used on the card.
But his rise as the masked El Grande Americano has been remarkable, and his Mask vs. Mask match against Ludwig Kaiser’s El Grande Americano AAA Noche de los Grandes last Saturday has already been lauded as a match of the year candidate.
Thanks for the submission!
Gable lost the match and was unmasked at the end but received a standing ovation from the fans in Monterrey for his efforts. Despite his rise in popularity, former Intercontinental champion Jeff Jarrett believes WWE won’t give him the push he deserves.
Speaking on the My World podcast, Jarrett said Gable has been good for many years but hasn’t gotten his flowers.
“I just don’t see the WWE (pushing him) because he worked under the Vince regime. And obviously now he’s worked under the Triple H regime, but they’re not all of a sudden magically going to go ‘Oh yeah, he’s our guy,’” he said.
Jarrett said Chad Gable, who has a year left on his current contract, should consider moving away from WWE in order to maximize his potential.
“I would absolutely leverage (his contract situation), with New Japan having new owners, that’s going to have a WWE influence as well… I just think he needs to keep doing what he’s doing but be ready to leave. I don’t see TKO coming to him and saying, ‘Hey man, you performed great in Monterrey, we’re going to give you a bump.’ I just don’t see that. I think he could monetize his talent more,” he added.
JBL says Chad Gable is the best wrestler in the world
Chad Gable has always received high praise for his in-ring ability and has drawn comparisons with the likes of Kurt Angle. While he is yet to get a push in the main event in WWE, his rise in AAA is a testament to his talent.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Hall of Famer JBL praised Gable for his work and said he has taken things to a different level with his El Grande Americano character in AAA.
JBL then said that Gable is the best wrestler in the world and that it isn’t even close.
