Former NBA player Patrick Beverley was disappointed that his prediction about LeBron James‘ decision was inaccurate. Everyone is waiting on James to announce which team he’ll play for in the 2026-27 season. There were rumors that it would happen after the 2026 FIFA World Cup Finals between Argentina and Spain.

On Sunday, the former LA Lakers guard posted on X about James potentially announcing his decision.

“Rumor has it Bron makes his decision today!!! 👀” Pat Bev posted.

Rumor has it Bron makes his decision today!!! 👀

Unfortunately for Beverley, that did not happen, and James’ next team remains a mystery. Even ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported on Tuesday that the four-time champion isn’t rushing to let the fans know about his plans.

Beverley was disappointed that the tip he received was not true.

“Can’t believe that source lied to me man 🤦🏾‍♂️” Beverley said on X.

After this experience, NBA fans did not pity Patrick Beverley. Instead, they trolled him for being confident in his initial prediction about James’ free agency status. Here are some of what the fans said.

“You should lowkey feel ashamed lmfao,” a fan said.

“Bron lied to him 😂” another fan commented.

“Used to be a star now you just bait on here like the rest of us,” one fan said.

Other fans gave Beverley a reality check.

“Its cool we aint believe you anyways 🤣🤣” someone commented.

“I ain’t gonna lie boss, no one will take your fake sham tweets real ever again,” a comment read.

Patrick Beverley Defends Russell Westbrook’s Lakers Tenure

When Patrick Beverley was with the Lakers, he had a chance to share the floor with Russell Westbrook, a longtime rival. Their partnership was not problematic since they put the past behind them. However, LA’s struggles did not help their time with the team.

Westbrook was often blamed for the team’s subpar performance. In June, Beverley appeared as a guest on Fred VanVleet’s “Unguarded Podcast” and defended the 2017 MVP.

“It was hard,” Pat Bev said (Timestamp at 26:44). “You have a first-year coach in Darvin Ham. You got me starting. Russ is on the bench. AR is starting, Bron is starting. AD is starting. All of a sudden, we get f**king Lonnie Walker starting?

“This s**t don’t work. This don’t even feel right on the basketball court. Then we get Dennis Schroder, who should’ve been coming off the bench. He’s starting because he’s D-Ham’s guy. Only person who was taking the punches with everything was Russ.”

Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook did not last in LA and were both traded away in 2023.
