WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry is considered one of the greatest of all time. He held numerous titles in the Stamford-based company, including the World Heavyweight Championship. He retired from in-ring competition in 2018. However, he is under a legends contract with World Wrestling Entertainment.
Mark Henry was signed to AEW from 2021 to 2024. The 55-year-old served in a non-wrestling role and was quite good at it. The World’s Strongest Man worked as an analyst/commentator for Rampage in 2021. He was also a talent scout, mentor, and coach. He was reportedly responsible for bringing WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill to All Elite Wrestling.
Today is Henry’s 55th birthday, and Sportskeeda wrestling sends him warm greetings. Hopefully, he will continue being an important part of the modern wrestling landscape and perhaps make an in-ring return someday. Happy Birthday, Mark Henry!
Mark Henry says that he would have made MJF look like ‘a million bucks’ had he wrestled him
In a 2024 appearance on Huge Pop with Donnie DaSilva and Jimmy Korderas, the WWE Hall of Famer criticized the in-ring psychology of modern wrestlers. Furthermore, he said that if he had wrestled MJF, he would have made the Salt of the Earth look like ‘a million bucks’.
“You watch a movie like Mission Impossible. Oh my God, there’s no way they get out of this. I get it. That’s not happening in wrestling no more. Well, let me just go against a guy my own size and we can do a bunch of things to each other, none of it works and then all of a sudden, ooouuu, I slip and fall and land on top of him and I win. It’s not a compelling story. If I were to match with MJF, it would be the best match that anybody saw this year. Because I would make sure that he looked like a million bucks, because my goal is to make him look like a million bucks, and then I’m gonna ask him in return, hey, I know how to make me look this way,” he said. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Mark Henry. Perhaps he will rejoin AEW in the future.
