Microsoft announced a bunch of new in-house AI models at Build 2026, including a new “flagship” model: MAI-Thinking-1. It’s an ambitious step into model development for Microsoft, which introduced its initial in-house models last year – before then, it had relied on OpenAI’s models. The two companies recently renegotiated their deal to loosen ties. US reveals Section 301 findings, proposes new tariffs on imports from India & others
The United States Trade Representative (USTR) revealed the findings of 60 Section 301 investigations, alleging that India is one among the 54 economies that have failed to impose and effectively enforce a prohibition on the importation of goods produced with forced labour.As per the report, USTR has proposed an additional 12.5 percent tariffs on countries who do not have an agreement on reciprocal trade with the US, including India.This comes at a time when US chief negotiators are holding three-day talks with Indian counterparts in New Delhi to finalise a bilateral trade agreement (BTA).
