Aryna Sabalenka gave a hilarious reply to trolls who accused her of prioritising TikTok over tennis following her shock exit at Wimbledon. The World No. 1 entered the London Grand Slam event as the top seed and one of the favourites to lift the title.

The Belarusian squared off against Naomi Osaka in the Round of 16, a fixture that should have ended with her victory. However, Osaka flipped the narrative completely and notched a 2-6, 6-7(2) win to end Sabalenka’s campaign. The defeat marked her earliest exit at a Grand Slam event in four years.

In the aftermath of her exit, Aryna Sabalenka revealed that she would take a break before beginning her appearance in the American hard court season. As she continues to enjoy her vacation in Greece, she has been actively posting on social media.

In one of her TikTok videos, she hilariously reacted to the trolls who claimed that she spends more time on TikTok than on tennis. She enjoyed a drink while donning a white hat in a bikini.

“Waking up to comments that say I care more about TikTok than tennis, that I don’t deserve to be the world number one that I need to fix my attitude,” Aryna Sabalenka captioned her video on TikTok.

Sabalenka will return to action at the National Bank Open in Toronto, scheduled to commence in August.

Before leaving for Greece to recharge her batteries, Aryna Sabalenka addressed the media and the questions around her surprise exit. She admitted that Osaka “overpowered “her in a fixture in which she didn’t give her best.

“Well, obviously I’m not happy with the way I played, but yeah, she overpowered me. It was (an) incredible level from her. I didn’t play my best and she played probably her best and sometimes that happens. Sometimes you can go out there and do everything you can and still lose the match. So, obviously I’m not really happy and well done for Naomi and wishing her the best,” Sabalenka told reporters.

Aryna Sabalenka admitted that her performance wasn’t worthy of being the top-ranked star. She wanted to forget about tennis by getting completely “drunk.”

“Today, I wasn’t world number one. Yesterday, I was world number one. I don’t want to even think about ranking. At this point, I just want to go get completely drunk, forget about tennis, and try to get in better shape,” she added.

While she failed to extend her dominance, Sabalenka will look to find her momentum before defending her title at the US Open.
