CeeDee Lamb’s use of a mesh net to practice blind catches drew a subtle dig from Antonio Brown aimed at Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. A video of Lamb running drills with a mesh net draped completely over his helmet and facemask went viral on Tuesday.
Reactions have followed in droves, including a hilarious X post by Brown, who spent 12 seasons in the NFL. CeeDee Lamb’s gesture is being interpreted as a shade at Jones for refusing to fix the sun glare issues at AT&T Stadium.

“Now do this to Jerry Jones so yall can finally win…,” Brown wrote.
The sun glare at AT&T Stadium has been a subject of contention for a while. It goes as far back as Nov. 2024 when the Cowboys face the Philadelphia Eagles in the stadium. Lamb famously missed a wide-open, three-yard touchdown pass in the end zone because he was blinded by the afternoon sun beaming through the stadium’s glass.
Jerry Jones’ response to CeeDee Lamb’s struggle
Jerry Jones has been unmoved by the subsequent outcry from players and fans to install curtains to block the glare. His position in the subject is reflected in a mocking response he offered reporters.
“We do know where the damn sun’s going to be at our stadium,” he said. “Well, let’s just tear the damn stadium down and build another one? You kidding me?
“Everybody’s got the same thing. Every team that comes in here has the same issues. They know where the sun’s going to be. Every team has the same thing.”
However, Jones recently acknowledged that curtains were successfully used at the stadium during this summer’s FIFA World Cup. But he did not confirm if they’ll be deployed for the coming NFL season.
CeeDee Lamb’s efforts are probably evidence of the star wideout’s decision to give no excuses this fall. While he finished last season with 75 receptions for 1,077 yards and three touchdowns, critical drops plagued his campaign.
George Pickens ultimately overtook him on the pecking order, turning out more catches, yards, and scores. There is undeniable pressure for Lamb to regain Dak Prescott’s absolute trust going into the new season.
Reports out of the Cowboys’ training camp shows Lamb’s efforts are paying off, as he’s reportedly putting together a strong camp.
