Andrade reacts to disturbing encounter with former WWE champion

AEW Dynamite featured a disturbing encounter between Andrade and a former WWE champion. El Idolo has now broken his silence on social media about it.

Despite being aligned with the heel faction, the Don Callis Family, Andrade is slowly becoming one of AEW’s most fan-favorite stars. This is thanks to his ‘Real Latino Man’ gimmick, which involves engaging in crowd interactions at ringside, particularly with women. That said, on the latest edition of Dynamite: Summer Blockbuster, the former WWE United States Champion was the subject of a rather disturbing encounter with Lio Rush.

On Dynamite, Andrade faced Orange Cassidy in a highly entertaining match. After some back-and-forth, El Idolo seemed to take control when he spotted Lio Rush in the crowd. Rush, a former WWE NXT Cruiserweight Champion, had a phone call with him that said: “He knows.” This prompted Andrade to confront the Blackheart star and ask the famous “How you know?” question. Shortly after, the clip of their encounter went viral on X, catching Andrade’s attention and prompting him to ask the same question.

Ex-WWE star Andrade wants the AEW World Championship

Andrade’s return to AEW last year has been defined by his primary goal of becoming a World Champion in the promotion. In recent months, El Idolo has come close to securing No. 1 contender status for the championship but has fallen short at the final hurdle. At Double or Nothing 2026, MJF, whom Andrade holds in serious disdain, regained the World Title from Darby Allin. Meanwhile, the former NXT champion competed in a volatile Stadium Stampede match, which his team (led by Ricochet) lost to Jericho’s team.

Days after the pay-per-view, Andrade confirmed that he will be going after the Salt of the Earth’s title.

“Now that the stupid Stadium Stampede is over, I can focus on winning the world title. I’m beating the stupid and Patito MJF. MJF, you think you are better than a Real Latino Man? How you know?” he said.

All Elite Wrestling has so far done a good job teasing a program between MJF and Andrade for the World Title. Time will reveal when the two stars will finally come to blows.
